He started his police career as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), and he was also one of the 2011 IPS officers.
K. Annamalai IPS was elevated to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP) a few years later, and he held this position for a full year. After that, he was moved to the Karnataka district of Chikkamagaluru, where he served as an SP till October 2018.
